Bébé Deux Week 25 Update

Today's date: August 20, 2013

How far along: 25 Weeks

Total weight gain: 7.5 pounds {Yes, every half pound counts ;)}

Size and growth of baby: David is the size of a cauliflower! He is around 1 1/2 pounds, and 13 1/2 inches long. Although he flips around everyday, he is learning the difference between being upside down and right side up! David's hair is starting to show in the color it will be at birth. {Will he be a red head? Blonde? Brown?} He is continuing to gain weight so that he won't be so wrinkled at birth. {via & via}

Baby is a: bouncing baby boy!

Maternity clothing: All clothing, except a few shirts I wear at home, are maternity.

Sleep: I still seem to have one night a week that I just cannot get to sleep at a decent hour. Even if I'm exhausted, it takes me some time to fall asleep. I feel the most tired when I'm getting up in the morning no matter how many hours of rest I got the night before. Not much napping is happening right now, but I'm sure that'll come in the next trimester.

Movement: I feel movement everyday and it's great! He does have quiet days, but Phil always checks on David and tells me he is at least squirming around. David gave a really good kick last night that Phil could see across the bed!

Cravings/Aversions: Chocolate, Nutella, chocolate chip banana bread, and strawberries. I seriously need something chocolate to eat almost every day. Aversions are no more, but smells can still get to me. The smells have to be pretty pungent though.

Morning Sickness: This was my third Zofran-free week! It's quite liberating really :)

Symptoms: Round ligament pain (seems worse), nesting, a few extra pimples, gas, movement, heartburn, trouble sleeping, peeing a fair amount, light contractions if I overdo it, and tired.

Labor Signs: Had a few light contractions around 1 am Thursday, but it was because I overdid it in the housework department. After taking it easy, they haven't come back.

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first: I have gained more weight, have more round ligament pain, and am having a harder time nesting with this pregnancy. I can keep things picked up, but I can't deep down clean like I did when I was pregnant with Jillian.

The best moment of this past week: Seeing the in-laws, trying out a new restaurant this weekend, and having a great day yesterday with friends!

What I miss: Nothing at all :)

I'm looking forward to: Phil and Jillian getting over their colds (without passing it to me!), getting the glucose test over and done with soon, seeing my parents next weekend, and cooler weather!

  2. I'm so ready for the cooler weather! I'm so hot right now! I've also realized this week I can't do too much without making myself feel awful the next day. I hate that reality.

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
