Now Always Seem To Be Governed By This Love We Have...

WARNING: This will contain some spoilers so read at your own risk!!
I don't know what I'd do without my DVR. Seriously, it has been saving me from having to watch episodes online since there are so many shows this fall that I wanted to at least check out. I'm going to go through, day by day, of what shows I've checked out, continued to watch, etc. Also, some of these shows have already started the season previous to this week. However, I figured it would be easier for me to just talk about them all once they all started. This will give you a little more insight of my personal tastes. Feel free to disagree with my opinion for it is just my humble one. Enjoy!

Monday

House - FOX
Phil and I are SO happy House is finally back on! We just love this show! However, having the entire 2 hour season premiere in the rehab? Really? I mean, I understand it was all about more character building for House, but it was just weird not having him at the hospital at all. It did keep our attention and we're excited for the rest of the season.

How I Met Your Mother - CBS
I've seen this show a handful of times and the rest of my family really likes this show. I didn't catch the season finale earlier this year, but I was still able to follow the show. I just love the cast together and this show it just really really funny! This is good since most of the shows we are watching this fall are dramas. We love to laugh and this show definitely delivers. Plus, Phil sympathized with Ted and thinks that's how his first day as a college professor would probably go ;)

Two And A Half Men - CBS
Monday must be comedy night for us. My dad really likes this show and I wasn't really into it until I went to visit my parents over the summer. In the week I was there, I watched about 10 episodes and now I'd like to see where the story goes. It does have a lot of sex humor, but it's still pretty funny overall.

The Big Bang Theory - CBS
Another show my folks like that I didn't really know much about. Then I was watching Veronica Mars online this summer and I'd get these ads in between segments about this show. Finally, I decided to check it out and loved it! I think I just love how nerdy the guys are because it reminds me of my wonderful hubby ;) Either way, it's pretty good!

Gossip Girl - CW
I know several people who love this show. I watched the season premiere last week, and I followed part of the story. However, overall I wasn't super impressed. I may have to watch previous seasons to become emotionally involved. Until then, I won't really be watching the new season since I don't get it.

Castle - ABC
Oh my! I originally heard about this show from miss co-worker lady ma'am. The season was far enough along that I had to watch episodes online (which I don't usually like to do unless I have to). However, this show is totally worth it! In her words "it's like one of those cop, detective shows with lots of good humor and a sexy leading man". Boy was she right! It's super witty and still has the intense parts that make it interesting the entire episode. I even got Phil into it so we watched the season finale together. It's only in it's second season, but I'm hoping it runs for a long time :)

Jay Leno Show - NBC
I've always loved Jay Leno. Phil complained that it's pretty much the Tonight Show at 9 pm. Since I like the Tonight Show, I don't mind it. However, with all the other shows we DVR, we usually end up missing it. We may end up having to DVR this as well. Either way, if you like Jay Leno, you'll like this!

I kind of wish TLC would bring back The Little Couple. I really liked that show this summer! Has anyone heard if it'll come back or not?

Also, I don't know when Little People, Big World is scheduled to come back, but I'll be excited when it does! Also, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few people in the world that isn't into Dancing with the Star, So You Think You Can Dance, and American Idol. I don't know why, but they just don't hold my interest as well.

I promise this is the last thing... who else thinks it's silly that they have Jon & Kate Plus 8 reruns before the new episodes. Is this supposed to make us stay interested by showing us how things used to be? I hate to say it because I used to love the show, but I think it's time to consider letting it go. It's just too heartbreaking to watch anymore.

Tuesday

The Biggest Loser - NBC
I love love love this show. I always get extremely motivated to work out too ;) I haven't been keeping up with the seasons, but this one seems really good. I also like that 2 of the contestants are from Oklahoma! lol However, I won't lie. Shay is going to get on my last nerve. Yes, she had a rough childhood and yes it's a lot to handle emotionally. However, you can't bring up your drug-addicted mother every time. It makes you look pitiful. Plus, she had no reason to go after Julio. I almost cried when I saw Julio's number this week! I knew he could do it and it made me so excited. I'm sure being able to call home helped everyone this week. It was also really funny watching the premiere with Mr. Phil. I have two Biggest Loser workout DVDs that have Jillian, Bob and Kim Lyons (who is no longer on the show). They're always joking and smiling and things like that on the videos. When they started bleeping Jillian's words, Phil said "She doesn't do that on the DVD!!" HAHAHA How else are you going to motivate and push people to keep going? Anyways, good good show for sure!

NCIS - CBS
I'm so glad this show is back on. I can't remember what first got me on this show, but now I can't get enough! I usually watch reruns on USA, but now I have new episodes too! I won't lie, I have a slight crush on Gibbs ;) Don't ask me what it is, but I love that man! The whole episode I kept telling Phil "Gibbs is going to save them. Don't worry, Gibbs is coming!", etc. We're both excited about the upcoming season. However, I don't think we'll be watching NCIS:Los Angeles. I don't know if it's the Chris O'Donnell/LL Cool J mix or what, but it just isn't appealing to me right now. Besides, how do you top Gibbs?!

the forgotten - ABC
I was pretty unsure about this the first half of the episode, but now I'm a little more optimistic. I just didn't get why a group of volunteers, (whether they had personal tragedies in their lives or not), would do something like this. Phil enjoyed the show the entire time. Like I said, I wasn't too keen on it, but now I'll definitely be checking it out to see how it goes.

The Good Wife - CBS
So this show was different from what I though it would be. I understood from the promos that it involved a political figure caught in an affair. However, I didn't think he would be going to jail off the bat and she would have to go back to work. In fact, I must have missed the part in the beginning about him going to jail. I saw them at the press conference and the next thing I new, she was in a meeting about trial assignments. I started to wonder if it was the same show or not. I enjoyed parts of the show, but not enough to make this a permanent DVR show just yet. If I stay interested for the next 2-3 shows, I will probably make sure it is recorded. If not, I definitely have plenty of other shows to keep up with ;)

18 Kids & Counting! - TLC
I know some people really don't like the Duggars. However, I just really enjoy this show and I love how they really focus on Christian values. I feel some of them are taken to extremes, but that doesn't take away from my opinion of them just being good, down-to-earth people. Also, it is true, Michelle is pregnant again which will not only make 19 kids but it also makes their new child a few months younger than their first grandchild. Strange, yes, but if they are caring for each and every one of their children, I think they can have as many as they want. They don't use credit cards, they're not in debt, they're not wasteful and they are just trying to live their lives as best they can.

It's pretty weird not watching The Hills this season, but I just don't feel right about it. This is Laguna Beach MTV. The show was supposed to follow Lauren, not Lauren and then whoever would make it interesting if and when Lauren decides to leave.

Wednesday

Mercy - NBC
I think Phil kinda of liked this one whereas I didn't really care for it. The problem is, it's like a mixture of all the medical shows you can think of... Grey's Anatomy, E.R., Scrubs, etc. It had serious moments, funny moments and sexy moments. You would think that would make a good show, but I felt it didn't transition very well. It came across as they were trying too hard to be everything without really giving a reason for switching. Plus, I've never been a big Michelle Trachtenberg fan. Phil is going to watch it one more time, but I may just skip it. I guess we'll see.

Glee - FOX
Another LOVE! I haven't seen humor like this since Arrested Development which makes me super super happy. I don't know how long this show will stay, but I hope for awhile. Part of it may be because I was in choir/show choir when I was in school. Anyways, you should at least check it out once. Plus, the choir director's wife is faking being pregnant since she doesn't know how to tell him she's not. It's pretty funny ;)

Eastwick - ABC
I saw a promo where it was like Sex and the City meets (insert witch show here). I wasn't really interested until I heard that. Well, it wasn't really amazing, but I'm definitely giving it another shot next week. I just didn't understand what was going on most of the time. Hopefully that was done so you'll watch more and it'll start to make sense later.

Ghost Hunters - SyFy
If you didn't already know, I love everything about ghosts. I believe in ghosts, (and I'm happy to share my theory with anyone that would like to hear) so I find any shows about ghost hunting, encounters, etc. really interesting! I like Ghost Hunters better than Ghost Hunters International and there are a few other shows out there that are just ridiculous. The people on this show have families and day jobs and they're just interested in the paranormal like I am. They try to disprove instead of proving and they're very professional about everything. I really like watching this, but I can't if I'm home alone ;) Plus, I always score since they have about 2 old episodes before the new one shows. Love!

I may check out the pilots for Hank and The Middle but I haven't seen too much about them. Plus, some shows are one Wednesdays for a reason. I am also not too interested in Cougar Town and Modern Family, but if you enjoy any other these, let me know which one and why! I may just check it out.

Thursday

Survivor: Samoa - CBS
I actually don't really watch this. Phil and his family are really into it. I watched a little while it recorded last night, but I doubt I'll watch much this season.

FlashForward - ABC
Phil and I were hoping this would be interesting and boy did it deliver! This show kept us on our toes the entire time. We're really excited to see where the story line takes the characters. There was one part where a man caught on fire got too close to a semi-truck carrying a gas tank which made this huge, and cool, explosion. Phil liked it so much, he rewound the show to watch it explode again. Boys... ;) Definitely check this new show out!

Grey's Anatomy - ABC
Do I really need to say anything? lol I actually like to watch the season using Netflix so I don't have to wait an entire week to see what happens next. However, Netflix already has quite a waiting list so I cheated and went from Season 4 to the season finale from earlier. Here's a major spoiler..... I really wanted Izzie to die. I'm sorry, but I really loved George. Plus, Katherine Heigl was talking about how she and her husband are adopted a little girl so I figured that meant she was going on hiatus for awhile. *sigh* Oh well... let's see where this season takes us huh? :)

SNL Weekend Update Thursday - NBC
Phil and I both enjoyed watching Weekend Update since it's one of our favorite segments on SNL. However, with two shows already recording, something had to give. So unfortunately, we'll have to miss this :(

Parks and Recreation - NBC
I didn't watch the first season of this, but I was not very impressed with it when it started again this season. I usually like Amy Poehler's work but this just didn't seem to be pulled off as well as her other stuff. Well, with two shows already recording, it wasn't too hard to sacrifice this one.

The Office - NBC
I've seen episodes of The Office here and there, but I've never really kept up with it very much. This is another one my brother especially likes. Well, since the time slot is open, we decided to record this show. It hasn't let us down yet! I'm sure being employed in an office right now makes it a little easier to relate to as well ;)

Community - NBC
I've seen lots of mixed reviews about this show, but I really like it! Joel McHale is a hoot and a half and it's always good to see Chevy Chase. There are slow parts from time to time, but overall we both really like this show! Give it a chance people

I've never be a huge fan of Private Practice so that's not really on this list. I'm also not too interested in The Mentalist. However, if you watch either of these and think I should check them out, feel free to tell me about it!

Friday

Monk - USA
It's kind of sad to think it's the last season for Monk. I've really enjoyed this show and I'm pretty confident it will end with him solving his wife, Trudy's murder. Phil will watch it if I am but never really got into this show. I always enjoy this show though :)

Numb3rs - NBC
The season premiere is tonight and I'm very excited! I love how this show mixes intelligence with FBI/detective mystery. This is always a crowd pleaser in my family and I highly recommend this show!

There are several other shows I've just never really thought to watch. If there's one you like on Friday nights, tell me about it! I don't mind checking out shows if they are recommended.

Also, there is a special on PBS next Friday (8/2). Yes, I know it's PBS, but they interviewed the director on the Today show this morning and it looked really interesting. It's called National Parks:America's Best Idea. If nothing else, you get to see 53 of the 58 National Parks that are just breathtaking :)

Saturday

There isn't usually anything that I record unless it's a movie that I want to watch again later. Though sometimes I've recorded some HGTV shows, (I love Ask Genevieve, Color Splash and Design on a Dime), just in case I want to show Phil some cool ideas ;)

Sunday

Extreme Makeover:Home Edition - ABC
This show always makes me teary eyed. I just love the personal stories of these families and seeing them get everything they deserve! If you've never seen this, you should watch it at least once. It's very touching

Bridezillas - WE
Guilty pleasure. Sorry, but I just love how ridiculous some people are. I know your wedding should be a once in a lifetime thing, but my goodness! LOL

Brothers & Sisters - ABC
I haven't kept up with this show very well, but I'm hoping I won't be disappointed with the new season this year!

The Simpsons - FOX
I've liked this show for a long time. Some of the newer episodes are getting kinda weary, but I'll keep watching as long as they keep making them!

Army Wives - Lifetime
I have a friend from back in the day who just loves this show. I didn't watch the previous seasons, but I thought when I heard a new season was starting earlier this summer that I'd give it a shot. This is such a good show! I don't know what it is, but I just can't get enough of it! I still think I should watch the older seasons just so I have a better grasp on some of the events that have happened. Also, Claudia Joy being so weird and whiney about having diabetes was kind of annoying. I mean, I'm sure it'd be hard for me too, but she just took it too far. Anyways, I definitely recommend this show!

I used to watch Family Guy but I just don't like the newer episodes like I did the older ones. I don't know what it is, but I just stopped watching. That being said, I wasn't interested in checking out the spinoff The Cleveland Show.

Well, there you have it! I hope you enjoyed that and like I said, let me know if there are any that I should check out because I obviously love TV ;)

This Is Ourselves Under Pressure...

PROJECT 365: Day 34
In case you didn't read my previous post, I stayed up most of the night studying for a mid-term that was followed by another exam for another class. I slept about 4 hours total so I was pretty exhausted. I took my mid-term and I feel pretty good about it. The test... well, I'm ok with it. However, I'm usually pessimistic about stuff like that so I'll just wait and see how bad it was. As I drove home, I started to get a sinus headache again. I think I've figured out I am now allergic to grass. That's strange since one of my favorite smells used to be fresh cut grass. I still like the smell, but now it gives me a headache about an hour later. Once I got home... yep, you guessed it, I slept for about 2 hours. After awhile, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if I didn't wake up soon. I've been watching my DVRed shows and just relaxing. I haven't been sleeping really well lately so my body really needed the rest. I'll be doing a separate post tomorrow about the new shows for fall that I've watched and what I think about them. Feel free to skip it if you don't care what I think. It is just my humble opinion :)

Since Phil has his night class, I waited to eat dinner with him. That means I had a little free time on my hands so I...

colored my hair ;) As per usual, I took a few extra photos just for fun. I hope you enjoy mom and dad! LOL

Tomorrow is school then work. My friend my be having a girl's night so hopefully I won't have to be lame and fall asleep early watching Food Network like I usually do on Friday nights ;) Hope you had a good day too!

Always Got Something To Do...

PROJECT 365: Day 33
I will just give a quote for today since I don't have much time to go into depth about it. Plus, I feel it speaks for itself :)

“Seeing much, suffering much, and studying much are the three pillars of learning"
- Benjamin Disraeli

I had to skip choir practice tonight because I have not one, but two tests tomorrow. How many classes do I have tomorrow? 2. Oh and one of the tests is just 1 of 5 exams while the other is my mid-term. Yippie :-/ Well, I had class this morning then work after as per usual. However, I got the worst headache straight across my forehead around 3pm and it just wasn't going away. I'm pretty sure it was just sinus stuff so Phil gave me two Aleve and two Sud-a-feds to take right before dinner. Now my head doesn't feel as cloudy and I can start studying again :) Wish me luck friends!

And A Time For A Purpose Under Heaven...

PROJECT 365:Day 32
What a great day for the fair! After class today, Phil and I went to the fair. We got a great surprise at the gate where admission was $2 instead of $8! Apparently they had a $2 Tuesday deal which worked out well for us! Two admission tickets, 1 funnel cake, 1 large lemonade, 1 roasted corn on the cob and 30 ride tickets = $40. Playing hooky with you hubby to go to the fair on a beautiful day = priceless :)

This was our weather forecast for the week. See how the high was 68 and there was finally a break in the rain?!? Perfect fair weather!

Phil finishing off the funnel cake. I only ate about 1/4 of it, but it satisfied my sweet tooth and I was able to show lots of restraint by only using 15 points at the fair. Hey, for fair food, that's pretty darn good in my books...

One of the rides had warnings in German? Whaaaaaa?

One side of the fair...

And the other :)

Although we did have to push out my Jeep in the giant mud hole known as the free parking. Oh well, we really didn't mind too much. I even rode on the ferris wheel with my back against the seat! It took every fiber in my being to not grab that middle pole, but I did it! Phil was very proud of me :) I'm really hoping to get over this fear. It seems like the one I can really work on the easiest.

Also, Happy Fall!! It's finally my favorite season :D

Follow Your Star, Play Your Guitar...

PROJECT 365: Day 31
Guess who packed a delicious lunch only to forget it halfway to school today. Yep, that's right, it was me. That's one of the downfalls of going to school 25 minutes north of your home, then work another 20 minutes west from there. Oh well, you live you learn right? At least the reason I forgot was because a maintenance guy came to the apartment right before I left to fix our leaking faucet! We had quite a list to give the manager, but nothing has really been done yet. This is a step in the right direction.

Phil should be picking up tickets to the midnight showing of New Moon on his way home today!!! So excited!! Pretty sure we won't get balcony again, but as long as I get to go, that's all that matters to me. Last piece of good news is I got an 80 on my first test in State & Local Government! I did better than I thought/than I did last time I took the class and took this test. Now I just have a paper to write for my Contemporary Political Issues class and I can go to sleep early! I've been pretty groggy all day because I took some Benadryl before bed last night. Hopefully I can sleep soundly tonight. Happy Monday everyone!

Our House Is A Very, Very, Very Fine House With Two Cats In The Yard...

Well, it's not a house, but it is our "home" until we move out of state after we're done with school :) Enjoy the photos of our new townhouse!
The front door (obviously)

Our patio area! We have a grassy area that's marked off by a fence so we can let Petey roam around a little.

There's a powder room (half bath) right by the kitchen!

The kitchen

The kitchen again

The dinning room
I decided to make our master chest the divider between the dinning room and living room. It turned out better than I envisioned!

The couch
The awkward space under our stairs. It has all our movies, books and misc.
The fireplace/TV area!
The front door. 10 cool points if you get the Friends reference :)
The staircase. The fireplace area is completely open to the ceiling on the 2nd floor. That makes the apartment seem larger.
Petey has found a new sleeping spot ;)
Our bedroom! The furniture fits a LOT better than in the last apartment.

Hope you enjoyed the mini-tour of our new place :D

PROJECT 365: Day 30
I know I haven't really updated this. I could make up excuses or just promise to never do it again. So.... I promise never to do it again ;) I uploaded all my other photos to my facebook page. If we're facebook friends, go ahead and enjoy :) If not, you're not missing too much.

We are officially unpacked and cleaned up! I'll show a few photos of our new place in a new post after this. Today I went to church with Phil, came home and just relaxed. After this past week, I'm just thankful to have the time to be still. I did make some pudding graham cracker sandwiches! They're point friendly and hit the spot for a frozen treat! My mom used to make them for me when I had "tea parties" at our house in Arkansas. Had an O.I.L. meeting and now I'm waiting for Phil to get home from work. He should be on his way.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

When I Get Where I'm Going...

I promise I'm still around!

Phil and I moved this past weekend so I didn't have internet access for about 48 hours or so. Well, we had it, but my computer was lost in the sea of STUFF! lol

The move went well and we're just about done unpacking/decorating already! That makes me very happy :) I won't talk too much so I can do a catch up blog later tonight.

Hope y'all are doing well!

It's A Typical Tuesday Night...

PROJECT 365: Day 18
Can you tell moving day is coming up? This is what Phil and I are working on this evening. He has to work Friday night, I have to work most of the day Thursday and Friday, etc. This week is going to be nuts. I'm just ready for it to be Saturday night or Sunday afternoon so I can start unpacking/decorating!

I got to school a little early this morning so I decided to treat myself to a Green Tea Latte with Soy Milk from Starbucks. It was yummy! Well, since I had to walk across two large parking lots, I happen to see this bumper sticker on a new car. Of COURSE I had to take a picture of it! It appeals to two different humorous sides of myself 1) the 5 year-old mentality of my humor and 2) the political science major of my humor. I was so glad I grabbed the camera this morning xD

Other than that, I don't have much to report today since this is mostly what I've been up to all day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more exciting ;)

I hope y'all got back in the groove of things better than I did today!

If We Listen To Each Other's Heart...

PROJECT 365: Day 17

I know I'm a day late, but you'll understand when I finish my post ;)

With Monday being Labor Day, Phil and I decided to go up to Tulsa for the day! One of the main reasons we decided this is because the local AA baseball team, the Tulsa Drillers, were playing their last game in the old stadium. The town built a new downtown ballpark and I thought it'd be a good best friend thing for Phil and his best friend Jeremy to do. They used to go quite a few times every summer and it sounded like they had fun!

So pretty much we slept in until 8:30 or so, had breakfast and were on our way. We had lunch with the in-laws at Pei Wei then played dominos for a little while (see above photo). After that we laid around for abit then I drove to Claremore to see Annette! We didn't get to hang out too long, but it was great to see my BFF :) She gave me a book to read and I'll let you know how it is. I went back to the in-laws and had a nice chat with Darla. Phil got back a little after 9 pm and we started home around 9:45 or so. We had to stop on the other side of town to do an instore pickup for Walgreen's. Pretty much, that just means he picked up some stuff the pharamacy he works at needed that another store in town had too much of. As we neared OKC, Phil wasn't feeling too well. We got home a little after midnight and he immediately ran to the bathroom. Let's just say he re-learned the lesson of not mixing beer and sweet stuff (it was beer and cotton candy from the game) :( Poor baby! I took care of him and he felt better when we woke up this morning.

Hope y'all had a safe and relaxing Labor Day!

One Thing I Still Know Is That You're Keeping Me Down...

PROJECT 365: Day 16
Well, the day started off kinda of typical, but then got a little rough. The picture of the day is of the new bible study/lessons for my youth group! You see, I had this as a bible study when I was in high school and I feel it's wonderful :) I think it's important for the youth, no matter what their age, to know what Presbyterians believe and why. I know they are confronted with questions from their peers and this book is a great resource. We started on the introduction today and I made a worksheet to go along with the chapter we're going over. I only had two kids today, but they were very receptive which made me feel optimistic!

We never thought we'd see the day when my cat, Cleo, would warm up to Phil, let alone SIT by him instead of me! You see, she's never liked Phil in the 5 years we've been together. I told him she's pretty fickle, but the more you feed and brush her, the more she'll like you. She's lived with us for almost an entire year and this happens earlier. Baby steps, but defintely good signs for sure.

I saw these thunderheads rolling to the east. Usually if they're east, I know they won't effect us. Well, then I saw flags blowing from east to west. When I got home, I turned on the weather and... of course nothing what so ever. Nice. lol

I had an issue come up after I got home that I will not get into here. Let's just say I'm glad my husband and mom are in my life. They talked me through it and I know that I handled the situation the best way I could. I can only learn from what's going on and move forward. So thanks mom and Phil. I truly appreciate you and your level heads :)

I think Army Wives is a repeat today which makes me sad. Oh well, I guess I'll just watch "The Princess Bride" on a movie channel until Phil gets home. Hope your Sunday went well today!

What Have You Done Today To Make You Feel Proud?...

PROJECT 365: Day 15

I'm sure you've noticed I've been absent for exactly a week. Well let me tell you... aside from not having much happen in my life and my allergies going nuts due to our packing and organizing for the move next weekend... I just haven't had the energy. I'm sure you can relate. The point is, I'm back :)

Today my picture of the day is that of my first 5 pound star sticker from Weight Watchers! I missed getting it last week by .4 pounds, but I lost 4 pounds total making my current weight lose at 8.6 pounds!! I'm so happy and proud and most importantly, motivated. This is what I needed to remind myself I CAN do this! It was a wonderful feeling for sure :) Also, this is the second annual Lose for Good campaign! For every pound lost, Weight Watchers donates $1 up to $1 million. Last year, WW people lost 4.5 MILLION pounds and my meeting place is taking donations. For every 5 pounds of food you bring in, you are entered to win this AMAZING goody bag! Sometimes I can't seem to stay motivated for myself. However, since I tend to focus on others, I think this will be good motivation for the next 6 weeks. Wish me luck!

I ran to the grocery store for more fruit, bread and cereal. I found some Tuscan cantalope on sale. I don't know how much different from regular cantalope it is, but I'm going to try it anyways. When Phil gets off work, I'm going to suggest we go bike riding! I haven't been on my bike for awhile and I'd love to ride it since it's so nice outside. Other than that, my Saturday is pretty quiet and I'm not complaining!

Now let's go back in time so that I can show you what I've been up to.

PROJECT 365: Day 9

I know, I know, this isn't my photo. However, being my first offense for forgetting my camera, I feel I deserve a little slack ;)

I had church in the morning then youth group that afternoon. We were GOING to go roller skating, but apparently 2-5 is the fall hours and they're still on summer hours at the skating rink. So, last minute change of plans... no problem. I only had 3 boys so I took them to the park to get a snocone, my treat. Well, they decided they wanted to play sand volleyball so we ran to Target, purchased a volleyball then played for a little while. We had fun and it was good to be out on such a beautiful day anyways.

PROJECT 365: Day 10

So this is how my Monday was. It was pretty awful. One of the many things that went wrong involved getting a parking ticket during the 10 minutes I was trying to find out where my new permit was. I had ordered it online 2 weeks before and I never received it in the mail. Turns out, you have to pick it up at the parking office with your school ID. Ummm... that's NOT what the website said but whatever. I sent in an appeal so I'll find out if they'll give me a break or not on the 15th. I told them I can provide a time-stamped receipt of when I purchased the sticker online. Thank goodness I didn't throw that away! I just stayed at home to avoid the world the rest of the day. I was just waiting for September to get here so the day and month would be over with!

PROJECT 365: Day 11

My Tuesday was a bit better. I went to class, then spent most of the afternoon cleaning the carpet. We had lots of stains we wanted to get out so we weren't charged when we move out of this apartment. Well, Phil and I went to the local grocery store and rented one of those carpet cleaners. I cleared the area, vacuumed the floor and started going at it. The problem? It was cleaning anything. I don't know whether it was the machine or if the stains were just that old, but I knew this couldn't end well. Then I decided to Google, "how do I get old stains out of my carpet?" Yes, I did type exactly that =P Anyways, I got this website called The Barefoot Lass and it had a homemade recipe of 2 T of liquid laundry detergent, 3 T vinegar and 1 qt of water. I used an old toothbrush and went to town. Oh my... I was SO IMPRESSED! I mean, it was a lot of work and took a long time, but it made the stains disappear! I was very happy. The picture of my homemade cleaner next to the machine was going to be my photo of the day, until my brother called me up :) I actually told my mom earlier that I wanted to call him and invite him to dinner. Well, he kind of beat me to the punch! He was in town to do some insurance stuff and asked if we could do a quick lunch since he had somewhere to be later. So we went to Chick-fil-a and caught up. It was really good to see him and just catch up. By catch up, I mean I talked his ear off and he answered whatever questions I threw at him ;) Since we didn't have much time, I invited him to dinner Thursday night since I was making meatloaf and he agreed. I love my brother :D

The battle of the carpet cleaners!

PROJECT 365: Day 12

Phil and I got a card from Petsmart, I mean, Petey got a card from Petsmart. LOL technically it was addressed to Pistul Pete instead of Pistol Pete, but whatever ;) His birthday is September 26th and it said he would get a free toy with a $10 purchase. Well, we wanted to get him a new food dish set since his is too small, so we went and got him some cute bowls! Then we were trying to pick out a new toy and that took forever! Mostly because we weren't sure what he'd play with. We ended up getting a stick with feathers, streamers and a bell on the end. Boy did he go to town! LOL he just likes toys that make noise and are slightly flashy. I'm glad he likes his gifts. Happy early Birthday Petey!

PROJECT 365: Day 13

Even though Mikey came into town for dinner, I forgot to take a photo. So my photo of the day is all the furniture we donated to Salvation Army. My old daybed, bookshelf and dresser. They served me well, but we have nowhere to even store it with our new apartment. Hopefully someone else will be able to enjoy as much as I did :) Other than that, I had a meeting at school, then Phil and I watched "Friday the 13th". You see, I'm apparently not well versed in movies. So our Netflix que is dedicated to me and my cinema education. Since there are around 70 horror movies alone I haven't seen, I decided to move them all to the top so we can get through them all before the new year ;) I'm not a huge horror film fan, but some of them are classics like "Friday the 13th", "Jaws", ones by Alfred Hitchcock, Steven King, etc. We'll see how it goes ;)

PROJECT 365: Day 14

I decided that Phil and I were in need of a date night. Since he got paid recently and I was getting paid Friday, Friday seemed like the perfect time :) After class and work, Phil met me at work and we went down the street to Pei Wei for dinner. We split both an order of edamame and honey-seared shrimp on brown rice. I felt pretty full and it was super delicious! I have noticed we don't have much to talk about :-/ That makes me a little sad, but I'm sure we're just out of practice! LOL Since we had so much time before our movie, which was in the mall theater, we walked around the mall. We got some great tarts from Yankee Candle since they're on sale for $1, then we stopped at Teavanna. We went to this store in Mall of America, but one of our local malls just got one a few months ago. We saw a beautiful cast iron tea pot that we're going to have to save up for, but saw how it can be a beautiful centerpiece for our dining room table! I have such great decorating things for our new apartment that I can't WAIT to show off ;) Hopefully we can get the pot soon. Then we went to the movie and shared a small popcorn and Sprite. We saw Inglorious. It was one of my first Quinten Tarantino movies and it wasn't so bad. Obviously it is not historically correct, but it was still a decent movie. However, it was longer than we thought. It was 10:30 when we got to our car! Well, because I want to continue with my cinema education, we watched "Friday the 13th Part 2" when we got home before going to bed. All in all, it was a good day.

Well, that's all for now folks! I hope y'all are having a great weekend as well :D

Peace to you,

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
