BB-3 Week 31 Update

{Lookin' and feelin' a little rough this week!}

We're back! We're exhausted, but we're back! It was a wonderful trip, and I'm so glad I was able, and willing, to go :) So much to tell you about, so I'll save all that for another post. Aside from some aches and pains due to traveling home, (lots of random aches and pains), my body and BB-3 did great! No scares, no hospital trips, and lots of good movement so I didn't worry about BB-3 too much :)

Today's date: June 3, 2016

How far along: 31 Weeks

Total weight gain: Since I've been gone for awhile, (and ate well abroad), I'm going to guess around 28 pounds. I'll have an official weight next week :)

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a pineapple, 4 navel oranges, a foam finger, or croquembouche! They are around 3-1/3 pounds, close to 16 inches long, and heading for a growth spurt. They can turn their head from side to side, and is still plumping up for D-Day! BB-3's irises react to light, and all five senses are in working order. {via and via}

Baby is a: baby!

Maternity clothing: All maternity, except for XXL shirts at bedtime.

Sleep: I slept pretty decently, and even got to nap a bit on our trip! I'll be interested to see how sleep is now that we're home again. I may have been a little too excited to see my Snoogle again ;)

Movement: BB-3 did great with kick counts while we were abroad. Got 10 kicks in an hour easily, so I'm glad of that. It made it easy to not worry about them too much. However, lately, the movements are so large, it is borderline painful. It hurts my belly, BB-3 sometimes hits nerves in my abdomen or pelvic areas, and I feel queasy when they really roll around. I'm thankful for the movements, but wish I felt better so I could enjoy them :(

Cravings/Aversions: I craved movie popcorn, fudgesicles, brownies, Nutella crêpes, and fruit. Aversions are still raw meat, pork, rice, peanut butter, and mushrooms, but a salad I ate once we were back in the States made my stomach hurt, so no more of those.

Morning Sickness: A few moments involving smells, but nothing out of the ordinary for this pregnancy. I've been a little queasy the last 48 hours, but that could just be from traveling back home.

Symptoms: Big baby bump, bump feeling heavy, out of breath, baby kicks (that sometimes hurt), sore boobs, round ligament pain, pimples, swollen feet, gassy, really tired feet, lower back pain, heartburn, pelvic pain (so painful lately!), feet no longer in sight, nasal sensitivity, and feeling really tired at the end of the day.

Labor Signs: A few Braxton Hicks from walking, but that's all.

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: Less morning sickness, no medicine, more weight gain, more anxiety, more out-of-breath feelings, crazy mix of cravings and aversions from both previous pregnancies, more nasal issues, more dental issues, more exhaustion, and more painful pelvic sensations.

The best moment of this past week: Having a great trip, and coming home to our babies!

What I miss: Montpellier, the weather in southern France, grabbing a Nutella crêpe whenever, and time alone with Phil where I can finish a sentence! LOL

I'm looking forward to: VBS week at church, my doctor's appointment, sharing our trip/passing out gifts to people, and getting back into the swing of our new summer schedule :)

  1. I think you look beautiful! I can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures. And Jimmy and I have been talking about making croquembouche for a while, it will happen one of these days!

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
