Lottie: {Four Months}

Lottie –

You are four months old today! It's so crazy to me to know that you'll be 6 months old before I know it.

According to our measurements at home, you are 13 lbs, 7 oz and 24 inches long. You have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I'll update your stats then. EDIT: You are 13 lbs, 9 oz and 24.5 inches long!

3 Month, and 3-6 Month pjs are what you are wearing these days. You seem to be longer than your sister, but it may just be the clothes. That, or we're just measuring you wrong ;) You wear size 2 diapers, and you fill them overnight really easy.

You are eating an average of 31 oz of formula a day every 2.5-4 hours. Sometimes you sleep through a feeding, so it's closer to four hours between. You get 5-6 feedings a day total. You drink Similac Supplement formula, with a little mix of Similac AR to help with spit up. When we were low on a tub of the AR, your spit up came back a little bit. We do a mixture of the two formulas to make sure it helps with your spit up, but also keeps you from getting backed up in the other department. You had your final bottle of breastmilk this month. We went 102 days where you got some of mama's milk everyday. I'm proud of our journey, and know we gave you the best we could :) I know the doctor will be giving us info about solid foods tomorrow, but we'll be waiting until closer to 6 months for that!

A few colds/stuffy noses happened this month, but nothing really derailed your feedings or sleep! I'm sure we'll have plenty of other sickies in the future just to boost that immune system. You do well with vaccines, but you're too young for the flu vaccine. Mama may get a little more protective as flu season starts.

You sleep for about 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 hours every night. You nap off and on with no real "schedule" to naps, but that seems to work for you. If you do nap, you usually sleep for about 45 minutes or so. If I can swaddle you and get you in the swing, you can nap for at least 90 minutes. This doesn't always happen due to our schedule, but it's nice when it does happen. You can nap even with lots of noise, which is great because it is quite noisy around here! You also like to sleep with your face mostly covered which can make mama nervous. Luckily, you do it in a way that you can still breathe. Mama just checks on you multiple times.

You like bath time, and even starting kicking a little to splash for fun. You don't really care if there are bubbles. Also, you know you'll get a bottle after you're dressed, so you usually don't fuss too much because you have your eye on the prize ;)

Personality is coming in full swing! You are a smiley baby in the morning! You love hearing "Good morning, sweet girl!" from mommy and daddy. You'll give the biggest and flirtiest grin you've got. After that, we better get you a bottle, because you're usually ready to eat! You also are very calm and happy to be with mama running around doing stuff. However, if you have something to say, you make sure you are heard! You are very chatty, and are not afraid to use your strong lungs if you need to make a point loud and clear. We don't mind one bit! You'll need to make your feelings known being #3 and all! You don't mind meeting new people or having them hold you. As long as they tell you you're pretty, you'll let them hang out with you. You do not enjoy being in a soiled diaper, so you give us about 30 minutes before you loudly protest!

You nap in the swing all swaddles up, but don't like to be in it otherwise. You'd rather be on the floor or in your jumperoo! Your toes are barely touching the floor right now on the jumperoo, but you don't mind at all. You only like the Bumbo for a few moments, then you're over it. You'd much rather be held or sung to. You like sitting up in our laps so you can see what's happening around you. You very rarely take your pacifier, and even then you do it with a little protesting. We haven't done much baby wearing, but hopefully you'll like it a little more soon.

Your hair on top of your head is coming in very light! You still have some newborn hair on the back of your head that's more brown. Your eyes are grayish, so we'll be interested to see what color these will be!

A few milestones this month: You grabbed your feet {11/15}, you rolled from belly to back {11/11}, and you rolled from back to belly once {11/19}! You love being on the floor, but get overstimulated easily being on your tummy. We can see you trying to army crawl, and you do move a tiny bit. {Don't grow up too fast!} You have awesome head control! You've only laughed a few times because you almost always get the hiccups as you start to laugh! It's really cute :) You are loving the ceiling fan, and finally interested in your lovie, (a small purple bear blanket). We will most likely be moving you to your crib in the next month. We think you're ready, you big girl!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Tulsa last week! You did great, and you were just so adorable :) Next year you get to eat with us!

Car rides are still pretty good for you. You only cry, (and loudly!), if you're hungry. Other than that, you're a good rider!

Some nicknames you've accumulated are: Lottie Dottie, Sugie, Sugar, LottiePop, Baby Lottie, and Lemmy, (because you're Lottie Eliza May).

Lottie, you are one of the biggest blessings. Your sweet demeanor and smile have truly brought so much joy to this family. We know God is going to do amazing things in your life. Thanks for being our Sugie!

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
