January Highlights

2016 has been somewhat quiet for us. Between my morning sickness being in full gear, and a few bouts of sickness for the kiddos, I don't have many photos for the month. However, here are some highlights :)

BB-3 Week 13 Update

My doctor moved my due date back 1 day, (I think based on LMP), so now I'll have these updates on Fridays! Don't forget to vote for what gender you think BB-3 is!

Today's date: January 29, 2016

How far along: 13 Weeks - YAY 2nd trimester! (or last week of the 1st... whichever you go by!)

Total weight gain: I am 2 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight.

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a peach or a clownfish! The vocal chords are forming, and the intestines are moving from the umbilical chord to bébé's tummy. They also have fingerprints! {via}

Baby is a: baby for now. We should find out in 6 weeks!

Maternity clothing: I wear maternity pants consistently, but shirts are still a mix of maternity and regular.

Sleep: For the most part, I can't complain. I fall asleep relatively easy, but I do wake up to move positions a few times a night. I can go back to sleep ok, but I wish I'd just sleep through the night.

Movement: None yet, but I think it'll be soon!

Cravings/Aversions: Cravings are spaghetti, lemons, sweet potato fries, lime popsicles, Mexican food, strawberries, fresh fruit, Fruit Roll Ups, and salad. Aversions are: the smell of cooking meats (especially fish!), anything overly sweet, greasy food, and anything that just happens to sound awful at the time.

Morning Sickness: Finally feeling pretty human again! I still have moments, usually around dinner time, when I need to lay down and try to muddle through a wave of nausea. The mornings go well, and it's more smells that make my stomach churn now. Still no throwing up, and no Zofran :)

Symptoms: Sore/heavy boobs, lots of stretching and sensations as my uterus grows, pimples, a little heartburn, some nausea, peeing a fair amount, headaches, and feeling tired.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: I was still really sick, and also lost more weight with Jillian and David. My chin has been littered with pimples since week 4. My cravings and aversions are different from both of my previous pregnancies.  

The best moment of this past week: Hearing BB-3's beautiful 150bpm heartbeat on Wednesday :) This part is my least favorite of pregnancy, (including the last 3 weeks!), because I have no guarantee that things are still ok. My symptoms are starting to ease up because I'm around the 2nd trimester, and baby is moving, but I don't feel it yet. I have to assume everything is fine, and that's just not how my mind operates. It's so great to get confirmation that all is well :) Also, we announced on Facebook after hearing the heartbeat!

What I miss: Nothing at all!

I'm looking forward to: My next appointment, scheduling the big ultrasound soon, starting workouts again, having a girl's night soon, and warm weather sticking around!

BB-3 Week 12 Update

Today's date: January 23, 2016

How far along: 12 Weeks

Total weight gain: I am at +1 in terms of prepregnancy weight.

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a plum or an army man! The brain is developing fast, just like most of their organs and tissue. They are opening and closing their fingers, and even curling their toes! {via}

Baby is a: I have to wait until late March to know. I added a poll on the side of my blog for guesses. You should vote for your guess on the side panel!

Maternity clothing: I wear maternity pants consistently, but shirts are still a mix of maternity and regular. I also change into sweatpants or pj pants if I'm at home for longer than 90 minutes at a time.

Sleep: I either have a well rested night's sleep, or I'm waking up every 90 minutes. No in between for me. I don't have to get up and pee in the middle of the night, and I can usually fall back asleep easily.

Movement: None yet, but I have a feeling that I'll be feeling squirms soon! Eek!

Cravings/Aversions: Cravings are BBQ, Mexican food, and Coke ICEEs. Aversions are still cooking meats, anything overly sweet, greasy food, and anything that just happens to sound awful at the time.

Morning Sickness: I had a few rougher days, but overall I think I'm over the hump of it! Still no Zofran, and I just have to go with the flow in terms of what sounds and smells good/bad for that particular day. It feels good to feel semi-normal again :)

Symptoms: Sore/heavy boobs, a little heartburn, some nausea, peeing a fair amount, and tired.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: I was still sick with the other pregnancies, I'm already gaining weight with this one, I'm more wishy-washy about food this time, and I have more "growing pains" in my pelvic area. {That's a little scary for me, but so far everything is still good :)}

The best moment of this past week: Getting my craving for steak fajitas not only satisfied, but it tasted just like I thought it would :)

What I miss: Nothing at all!

I'm looking forward to: My next appointment on Wednesday when we'll hear the heartbeat on Doppler, finding out the gender, and seeing my folks in a few months.

BB-3 Week 11 Update

I'm backdating this post because I was out of town on a youth retreat! It was freezing cold all weekend, but I survived :) I didn't forget BB-3!

Today's date: January 21, 2016

How far along: 11 Weeks (+5 days)

Total weight gain: I am at my pre pregnancy weight.

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a brussel sprout or small lime. Toes and fingers are no longer webbed, little things like tooth buds and hair follicles are forming, and even though I don't feel them yet, there are lots of movements going on in there! {via}

Baby is a: baby! I should find out around my birthday :)

Maternity clothing: Mostly pants, though I am wearing loose shirts for now.

Sleep: I'm pretty sleepy during the day, and I had about 4 days in a row where I was not getting a restful night's sleep. Hopefully that's behind me for now!.

Movement: Nothing just yet, but I have a feeling I may feel something in the next week or so!

Cravings/Aversions: This week I've wanted flour tortillas, Cocoa Pebbles, and chips and salsa. Aversions are mostly the smell of cooking meat, and anything that sounds bad at the time. This time around, I am a lot more wishy-washy with what does and does not sound good. Like ketchup was fine one day, and the next is smelled terrible to me.

Morning Sickness: Queasy here and there, but I am definitely feeling a little more human again!

Symptoms: Sore/heavy boobs, tired, weepy, gassy, slightly more moody than normal, heartburn, dizziness, and some nausea.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: I was sicker than I am now, and I'm more tired this time around. I also did not really lose any weight due to sickness, even though I am starting this pregnancy at my lowest weight. Also, my mind changes about what foods I do and do not like almost daily.

The best moment of this past week: Being home again with my family after a weekend retreat.

What I miss: Nothing :)

I'm looking forward to: My next appointment in a week, finalizing my bridesmaid dress, and getting both kiddos enrolled for preschool next year!

BB-3 Week 10 Update

It's been quite a week that has included David having a high temp. We are on Day 3, and so far no end is in sight :-/ It's his only symptom, and no one else is sick (knocks on wood!) so far. Hopefully the fever will break soon. We haven't been sleeping well lately.

Today's date: January 9, 2016

How far along: 10 Weeks

Total weight gain: My weight keeps fluctuating between the same 2-3 pounds. As of now, I am at my pre pregnancy weight.

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a prune or petit four. The organ systems are established, the placenta is starting to work its magic and baby's eyes are closed until week 27.  {via}

Baby is a: baby! I should find out around my birthday :)

Maternity clothing: Mostly pants, but I still have several shirts that I'm just wearing because their comfy.

Sleep: Minus the past few days, sleep is good. I need around 8 hours or else I'm pretty wiped.

Movement: Nothing just yet.

Cravings/Aversions: This week I've wanted pasta, pickles, tabouli salad, cheesecake, strawberries with Cool Whip, tomatoes, salads with ranch dressing, and watermelon. Aversions are mostly the smell of cooking meat, peanut butter, OJ, bacon, apples, coffee, cheese part of the time, and anything that just doesn't sound good at the moment.

Morning Sickness: Queasy here and there throughout the day. The last few days it has been worse at night.

Symptoms: Sore/heavy boobs, tired, weepy, gassy, slightly more moody than normal, heartburn, dizziness, and some nausea.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: I was sicker than I am now, and I'm more tired this time around. I also did not really lose any weight due to sickness, even though I am starting this pregnancy at my lowest weight.

The best moment of this past week: Getting everyone back into the swing of things after the holidays.

What I miss: Nothing :)

I'm looking forward to: My next appointment in a month, a retreat I am going to this weekend as a youth sponsor, and David's fever going away!

BB-3 Week 9 Update

Like Jillian and David, I will be starting weekly updates now, but won't do pictures until Week 12.

Today's date: January 2, 2016

How far along: 9 Weeks

Total weight gain: My weight keeps fluctuating between the same 2-3 pounds. As of now, I have lost 1 pound.

Size and growth of baby: BB-3 is the size of a green olive or pecan. They have graduated from an embryo to a fetus, and we should be able to hear their heartbeat on doppler next week. {via}

Baby is a: baby! I should find out around my birthday :)

Maternity clothing: I'm starting to wear pants for now, but only because regular pants get tight after awhile. I'm kind of living in my sweatpants right now.

Sleep: Sleep is pretty good! I need around 8 to 9 hours, or I feel like a zombie the next morning. I usually take one quick nap a day.

Movement: Nothing I can feel just yet. Looking forward to that again!

Cravings/Aversions: I've been craving things like lemon cake, tomatoes, salads with ranch dressing, rice, cornbread, and I wanted brown gravy for awhile, but that's no longer a craving. Aversions are mostly the smell of cooking meat, peanut butter, OJ, bacon, apples, coffee, cheese part of the time, and anything that just doesn't sound good at the moment.

Morning Sickness: Some queasiness, but I haven't actually thrown up yet! *knocks on wood* Most of the time, I just have zero appetite or nothing sounds good. I can usually make myself eat something, which is good!

Symptoms: Sore/heavy boobs, tired, gassy, slightly more moody than normal, heartburn, dizziness, and some nausea.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

How this pregnancy is different than the first two: I was sicker than a dog with Jillian, and a little less tired with David. I also feel crazy bloated. I am starting the pregnancy off at my lowest weight, so I'm interested to see how that pans out! Also, I have a high probability of developing gestational diabetes with this pregnancy now that I'm not on Metformin.

The best moment of this past week: Finally confirming the pregnancy, seeing BB-3 and their strong heartbeat on ultrasound, and having Phil around for the holidays :)

What I miss: Nothing :)

I'm looking forward to: My next appointment in a month, things getting back to normal after the holidays, and finding out if Jillian gets the sister she's begging for!
