Bébé Deux Week 32 Update

Today's date: October 8, 2013

How far along: 32 Weeks

Total weight gain: 19 pounds

Size and growth of baby: David is the size of a large jicama! He is around 3-3/4 pounds, close to 16-1/2 inches long. His skin is soft and smooth as he plumps up for birth! He may have flipped to birthing position, (head down). {I don't think he has, or he is in more of an oblique position based on how I feel him moving. I guess we'll see...} {via and via}

Baby is a: boy boy boy!

Maternity clothing: All clothing, except a few things I wear at home, are maternity.

Sleep: Sleep is good for the most part. I've woken up pretty groggy the last few days, but I sleep through the night ok. I'm so sleepy when I wake up to pee in the middle of the night that it takes all my energy to not fall asleep while doing my thing! HAHA I had a really good nap on Sunday, but that was the most napping I've done in awhile.

Movement: He moves differently than Jillian did, but he always gets his kick counts in well under an hour. David had two sleepy days in a row that made me nervous. Luckily, Phil is always willing to put his head against my belly to check on David :)

Cravings/Aversions: Main craving this week was fresh bread from Panera. No real aversions besides staying away from dairy in an attempt to help with my digestive issues. Switching to lactose free milk has really helped.

Morning Sickness: Still Zofran free :) My digestive issues are better, so I'm hoping I've figured it all out!

Symptoms: Obvious baby bump, round ligament pain, back pain at random moments, stretch marks, abs feeling heavy and/or sore, nesting, gas/digestive issues, movement, peeing a fair amount, light contractions if I overdo it, and extremely tired.

Labor Signs: None

Belly button in or out: In. It never popped out with Jillian, so I'll be interested to see if it does this time. It is much more shallow than normal right now!

How this pregnancy is different than the first: More weight at this point, swelling earlier, I feel more tired, movements are different (thanks to an anterior placenta), and craving more sweet than savory things than before.

The best moment of this past week: My fun shower, and spending a lazy Sunday with Phil. Sometimes, the days where you have zero plans are the days that are good for your soul!

What I miss: Nothing at all :)

I'm looking forward to: More fall weather, crossing off more things on my baby deux to do list, my brother's visit later this month, and a quick trip to Tulsa!

  1. You look so cute! So, I'm curious--I had an anterior placenta and had nothing to compare it to. How would you say the movements are different?

    1. Thank you! That's always nice to hear at this point in pregnancy ;)

I would say that, to me, the movements feel stronger if he has his back against my belly button. If he is facing my belly button, the movements feel a little more deep inside. I can feel those movements, but I can't necessary see them if I watch. I also feel like I have to run to the bathroom due to his movements more than I did with a posterior placenta.

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
