Bébé Week 26 Update

{I am slouching a little, but my bump is getting bigger!}

Sorry for missing yesterday! I was in a cleaning coma all weekend on top of it being the first Saturday of college football.  However, our apartment looks great, the weather is cooling off, my two teams won yesterday, (Go Hogs & Pokes!), and my mama is coming tomorrow! I'm a pretty happy girl right now :)

Today's date: September 4, 2011

How far along: 26 weeks + 1 day

Total weight gain: I have gained around 2 pounds. Considering how much I ate after my glucose test, I'm totally happy with that number! I felt like a bottomless pit on Wednesday night.

Size and growth of the baby:
Jill is now the size of an English cucumber and around 2 pounds! She is learning to open her eyes and bat those precious eyelashes. (I hope her eyelashes are long like Phil's are!)  She is also starting to work up those lungs and her immune system for her debut into the world.  {per}

Sex: It's a girl!

Maternity clothes: Almost everything is maternity. I wear non-maternity shirts at home.

Sleep: I'm getting better at sleeping on my side thanks to another pillow, (which brings my total up to 4). I still wake up about 2 times on average to pee, but I can usually fall back asleep pretty quickly.

Best moment(s) of the week: More movement and getting the day off on Tuesday to spend with my mama. Oh, and Phil surprised me with a cute onesie today from Target! It says "I love mommy" and has two deer on it. Precious :)

Movement: Although she has had a few quiet days, I can feel and see her everyday. I think she has figured out she can travel to the back of the placenta, because sometimes I feel strong kicks without seeing them. She's made me run to the bathroom a few times because she decided my bladder is fun to bounce on.

Food cravings/aversions: My aversions haven't changed too much since I've been taking my medicine. The only craving I had was for deviled eggs on Wednesday after my glucose test. Since I have to take the 3 hour, I'm making a full batch the night before because they really hit the spot!

Morning sickness: I still take Zofran everyday at lunch just to be safe. I tried going without one day and I kept food down, but felt miserable the next morning before I took one for lunch.

Symptoms: Obvious baby bump, peeing a lot, stretch marks, uterus/lower abdomen feels heavy, baby kicks, lower back pain in the morning, heartburn/acid, gassy, and pretty emotional.

Labor signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Not a thing :)

What I'm looking forward to: Seeing my mom tomorrow, passing the 3 hour glucose test, and finding out if my placenta has fixed itself.

  1. Aww I love seeing your belly grow! :) I've been so bad at getting pictures and only have one at 8 weeks and 15 weeks. Sad!

But I Know What It Feels Like

This post is going to be awfully vulnerable and hard for me, but I really want to finally say it out loud. I got permission for my daughter ...
